🇺🇸 Honoring a Local Family of Heroes 🇺🇸

On Patriot Day and 9/11 Heroes Day, we are honored to recognize the family of our very own Beachland Elementary Cafeteria Manager, Caitlin Flinn.

Caitlin’s father, Frank Salmon, served with the FDNY for 26 years as a member of Engine 43 and Ladder 59. On September 11, 2001, Frank was among the courageous first responders who answered the call when our nation needed them most.

Caitlin’s mother, Alice, was also serving others as a nurse in New York City on that tragic day.

As we share these special photos of Frank, Alice, Caitlin, and their family, we honor their service, courage, strength, and sacrifice. Their story reminds us that the heroes of September 11 are not only part of our nation’s history—they are also members of our own school district family.

Today, we remember those we lost, honor those who served, and thank the families whose lives were forever changed. We will never forget. ❤️🤍💙

🍩 Sweet treats and even sweeter memories at Indian River Academy!

🍩 Donuts with Grownups Week is off to a sweet start!

These fresh, whole-grain, yeast-raised donuts were baked this morning by our amazing Food and Nutrition team at Vero Beach Middle School, then topped with powdered sugar and colorful sprinkles! ✨

Freshly baked, made with care, and ready to be enjoyed with the grownups who make our students’ lives extra special. 💙

We know it’s Donuts with Grownups Week, but we simply cannot move on until we give National Cheese Pizza Day the cheesy celebration it deserves! 😂

Our students enjoyed every delicious, melty bite—and these smiles were too good not to share. Now that we’ve officially paid our respects to pizza, we can proceed with the donuts! Stay tuned for more adorable faces!🍕➡️🍩
