Never Forget. Never Forgotten.

Today, the first responders of Indian River County came together in solemn remembrance of September 11, 2001. This meaningful service was hosted by Undersheriff Thomas Raulen and featured keynote speaker James Jenter, Special Deputy with the United States Marshals Service, who stood at Ground Zero in the aftermath of that tragic day. Twenty-three year U.S. Naval Veteran Dan Green also gave his great remarks this morning.

On display were powerful reminders of the day: a firefighter’s hose bearing the names of the more than 3,000 victims of 9/11, and a slab of granite from Ground Zero.

We honor the nearly 3,000 lives lost, the heroes who ran toward danger, and the enduring strength of those who continue to serve. Their sacrifice reminds us of the courage, unity, and resilience that define us.

We will never forget.
