Indian River County’s Annual Trunk or Treat is back, and we’re looking for local businesses, entrepreneurs, brands, organizations, foundations, community figures, and supportive community members to help make this year’s event unforgettable!

🚗 HOST A TRUNK! Decorate your vehicle, bring plenty of candy, and get ready to connect with families from across our community. With more than 1,000 participants expected, it’s a great opportunity to showcase your business or organization while being part of a fun, family-friendly Halloween tradition.

• Free to participate — just decorate your trunk and bring the candy!

Make a difference in and around the water!

Ready to take your skills to the next level? The American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Certification is your opportunity to become a certified swim instructor and help teach essential swimming and water safety skills to others.

Registration and swim testing takes place Tuesday, September 22, from 4:30–6:00 PM at the North County Aquatic Center.

The course begins September 29 and runs through October 20, with training held at both the Gifford Aquatic Center and North County Aquatic Center.

Course Fee: $325
Minimum Age: 15
Must meet Level 4 swimming skills criteria

Whether you're looking to build valuable skills, pursue a career in aquatics, or make a positive impact in your community, this certification is a great place to start.

Parks & Recreation Month reminds us that the places we care for are really about the people who bring them to life. 💙🌊

Our aquatic centers are more than pools—they're gathering places where our community comes together. From early morning lap swimmers chasing personal goals to young children experiencing the joy of the water for the very first time, these spaces create connections that span generations.

The welcoming culture built by our incredible staff is what makes these facilities feel like home. It's where confidence grows, friendships are formed, and families make memories they'll carry with them for years to come.

Whether you're training for your next race, perfecting your dive, cooling off with the family, or simply looking for a place to relax, our aquatic centers have something for everyone.

This Parks & Recreation Month, we're celebrating the people, the places, and the lasting impact recreation has on our community. Thank you to everyone who makes our aquatic centers such a special place to be—we'll see you at the pool!

☀️ What an incredible two weeks! 🌊

Our Jr. Lifeguard Program wrapped up last week, and we couldn't be more proud of this amazing group of future lifeguards!

Throughout the program, participants got a firsthand look at what it's takes to be a lifeguard. They learned many of the same rescue techniques our lifeguards use, improved their swimming through conditioning, and built important communication, teamwork, and leadership skills. Of course, there was plenty of fun along the way with games and activities designed to challenge and encourage them every step of the journey.

A huge thank you to our lifeguard staff for sharing their knowledge and mentoring the next generation of water safety leaders, and congratulations to all of our Jr. Lifeguards on a job well done! 👏
