And a big thank-you to our own team here at United Way of Indian River County. We’re proud to share that we’ve reached 100 percent staff participation in this year’s campaign.

Every single member of our team shows up with heart, humor, and real commitment. This work is not just what we do, it is what we believe in.

The keen eyed among you may have noticed CEO Meredith Egan and our Marketing Director, Sarah Tucci, are not in this photo. We are at 100 percent participation, just not 100 percent geographically able to stand in the same room at the same time, which feels very on brand for nonprofit life.

Grateful for this team and everything they bring to this work every day.

For many retirees living on fixed incomes, tax season can feel especially overwhelming.

One VITA client shared:

“I am retired and on a very limited income and knowing that VITA is there to help me at tax time is a blessing.”

Did you know 60% of VITA clients this year were retired?

Programs like VITA help ensure older adults in our community have access to trusted support, without added financial strain.

Because everyone deserves to keep more of what they’ve earned.

One local VITA client shared:

“Thank you for providing absolutely free tax returns for the many citizens that qualify. It has saved me so much money.”

This year, 43% of VITA clients said their refund would help pay monthly bills or debt, helping ease financial pressure for families across Indian River County.

Sometimes financial stability starts with one less bill to worry about.
