My name is Ashley Rozzell and I am running for Wilbarger County District Clerk in the 2026 Primary election. I have had the privilege of working in the District Clerks's office since May 2022, along side BrendaPeterson, who has been our District Clerk for over 24 years. I have obtained numerous hours of continued education for the District Clerks office throughout my time as a deputy clerk. Working in the District Clerks office has instilled in me a strong sense of accountability, structure, and dedication to public service. It has also strengthened my adaptability, attention to detail, and problem solving skills. This position requires strong organization qualities, clear communication, leadership, and the ability to multitask in a fast paced environment to keep daily operations running smoothly and efficiently. It has also given me firsthand knowledge of how county government and district court operates.
The Wilbarger District Clerk's Office consists of many primary roles such as Criminal, Civil, CPS, AG, and Tax cases. Being a current Deputy Clerk has provided me with direct, hands-on experience in all areas of the office and a clear understanding of how each role works together to serve the public. In addition to these roles, the Wilbarger District Clerk's Office is responsible for a wide range of essential services, including:
• Recording and maintaining official public records
• Divorce Filings
• Parent/ Child Realationship Filings
• Issuing Citations/ Warrants
Just to name a few.
Because of this background, l understand the full scope of the District Clerk's responsibilities and the importance of accuracy, consistency, transparency, and service to the people. I believe this experience makes me well qualified to serve as your Wilbarger County District Clerk. I am committed to our community, excited about the opportunity to serve, and dedicated to doing the very best job possible for the people of Wilbarger County.
