Our members are sending our thoughts and prayers to Nelson Halladay as he fights his medical battle. Nelly has been a staple in our community severing as an emt on ambulances and as a volunteer firefighter in our area for decades.

Congratulations to Joe Brown for completing and passing the Apparatus Pump Operator course. This class was a 24 hour course hosted by Westmoreland Volunteer Fire Department over the last 3 weeks.

Joe has been busy with training recently. We are looking forward to seeing him put his training to good use.

Happy to help out our fellow firefighters. Thank you to everyone who participated in the dunk tank by either being dunked or throwing balls. Looking forward to seeing the new station in the future!

We are very grateful to CNY Stair Climb for honoring one of our past chiefs, Merle Nell today. Merle was our fire police captain when he passed while at a structure fire in November of 2016.

Mike Buczek, a member of our department, represented us and participated in the climb. We thank Mike, all of the participants and the organizers for making such a great event possible.

Congratulations to Joe Brown on completing engine company operations today This is the second class that Joe has completed in the last 2 weeks. Looking forward to having Joe as part of the future of the department. Hopefully his desire to learn new things never stops.

Tomorrow’s bicentennial parade will start at 11:45am. It will start from the Vernon firehouse onto south sconondoa and continue down peteroboro st to the elementary school.

Our members had a great night at the New Hartford truck spectacular! Our engine 3 was voted best appearing engine. Come and see all our trucks and members at our bicentennial celebration this Saturday July 19 with a parade starting at 11:45am and event at the Vernon town building 12-4pm!

Congratulations to our newest certified interor firefighter, Joe Brown!

Joe successfully completed over 50 hours of training to earn this certification through the NYS Interior Firefighter Operations course. Joe is eager for more training and is already almost graduating from engine company operations.
