IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM ATTORNEY TOM YU
***We MUST have a signature from everyone!***

Thank you to all members who have already submitted information regarding the involuntary reassignment and deployment of DPO IIs to the Halls.

As previously announced, my office is preparing a combined grievance on behalf of affected members concerning transfer rights under the MOU. This matter is expected to proceed to arbitration.

Because multiple employees are being represented together in this action, California ethical rules require that each participating member review and sign a supplemental conflict disclosure and informed consent form before representation can move forward.

If you wish to be included, please take a moment to review and sign the form at the link below.

Failure to complete and return the form may impact your inclusion in the combined grievance and arbitration process.

Today, on Peace Officers Memorial Day, AFSCME Local 685 honors the probation officers who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty while serving and protecting the people of Los Angeles County.

We especially remember Group Supervisor Arnold Garcia and DSO Michael Wall, whose dedication, courage, and commitment to public service will never be forgotten. Their loss is a solemn reminder of the real dangers we face every day in the halls, camps, communities, and streets of L.A. county.

As Probation peace-officers, we stand between chaos and stability. We mentor, supervise, protect, transport, intervene, and respond in some of the most difficult and dangerous situations imaginable. Too often, the risks of our profession go unseen by the public, but today we pause to honor those who gave everything in service to others.

We ask all members to take a moment to remember our fallen brothers and all peace officers who have died in the line of duty.

Their service. Their sacrifice. Their legacy. Never forgotten.
