Rabbit Project registration has been extended until June 15th. If you know anyone that would like to get more involved with 4-H send them my way! Animal projects such as these are a great place to start and we will help you every step of the way!

Pre-Registration for our 2026 Rabbit Project has begun! Deadline to register will be May 29th. Call or Text 205-712-7167 to register and for more information/ questions! 🍀🐰🍀 $50 fee for project, if you already have a pet rabbit you can use your pet at no cost. Ages 9-18.

💬 What topics or lessons do you enjoy teaching the most? "I love teaching lessons about smart snacking, healthy breakfasts, and choosing better beverages. Anything that lets students get involved, try new foods, and see how fun healthy eating can be is my favorite!"
👩‍🌾 What are your hobbies? "I enjoy spending time with my family and pets, taking pictures, and enjoying nature. I especially love visiting state parks and using our local walking trails in Fayette."

The Lamar County Farmers Market, located in Vernon at the Lamar County Extension Office will open on Saturday, June 6 at 8:15am until 10:30am and on Tuesday, June 9 from 4pm-6pm.
The farmers market will be open on each Tuesday from 4pm-6pm and Saturday from 8:15am-10:30am beginning June 6th until further notice. Come out early for the best selections.

With the weather nice and warm, take your meals outside and fire up the grill!

Grilled veggies are a simple, healthy, and delicious way to enjoy the season. From zucchini and bell peppers to mushrooms and corn, toss them in a little oil, add your favorite fresh herbs, and you’ve got a flavor-packed side or main dish.

Herbs like rosemary, basil, or thyme take the taste to the next level, without extra salt or calories!

Eat well, grill smart, and enjoy the sunshine.

This was a lively group! Whether we were trying the oven baked pork chops, playing food safety bingo, or doing an arm workout, this group always kept me on my toes! Proud of them for completing Families Eat Smart Move More class with EFNEP Agent, Kristi Baggett.
