New on the blog: Waiting on God: To Know His Goodness — a short reflection on how quiet, persistent waiting opens us to God's goodness. Read it and let it encourage your heart today: https://wix.to/QWaXTYr

And here is now the true way of entering into and rejoicing in this goodness of God—waiting upon Him. The Lord is good—even His children often do not know it, for they wait not in quietness for Him to reveal it. But to those who persevere in waiting, whose souls do wait, it will come true.

He is able to do exceeding abundantly above what we can ask or think. In “Waiting on God: For Unlooked-for Things,” Andrew Murray encourages believers to wait expectantly and pray for the unseen. Read the full devotional: https://wix.to/Yn0eIqC

Yes, let God’s people enlarge their hearts to wait on a God able to do exceeding abundantly above what we can ask or think. Let us band ourselves together as His elect who cry day and night to Him for things men have not seen. He is able to arise and to make His people a name, and a praise in the ...

That is, on the occasion referred to in the psalm, when he was exposed to the persecutions of Saul, and when he sought refuge in the country of Abimelech or Achish: 1 Sam. 21 The idea is, that at that time he did not confide in his own wisdom, or trust to any devices of his own, but that he sought the protection and guidance of God, alike when he fled to Gath, and when he fled from Gath.

And delivered me from all my fears. From all that he apprehended from Saul, and again from all that he dreaded when he found that Abimelech would not harbour him, but drove him from him.

New post: "Waiting on God: Its Certainty of Blessing" by Andrew Murray — a short, powerful read on resting in God’s presence and letting Him perfect His work in us. A reminder that waiting can be the breath of our spiritual life. Read more: https://wix.to/EUaUXO5

How strange that, though we should so often have experienced it, we are yet so slow of learning that this blessed waiting must and can be as the very breath of our life, a continuous resting in God’s presence and His love, an unceasing yielding of ourselves for Him to perfect His work in us.

New blog: “A Sermon from a Sick Preacher” by Charles Haddon Spurgeon — a reflective look at how precious Christ is to the believer. Read a thoughtful 19-minute devotional exploring the personal value of faith and hope in illness. Read more: https://wix.to/tVkjaz4

“Unto you that believe he is precious,” it is not so much how precious he is, as how precious he is to you. If you be a believer, the text affirms that Jesus Christ will, without any adverb to limit the extent of the descriptive word, be precious to you.

Waiting on God: The Almighty One — Our waiting becomes meaningful when grounded in who God is. Read Andrew Murray’s short reflection on trusting the Everlasting and Almighty One and how that truth shapes patient, confident waiting. Read more: https://wix.to/7hcBWGK

Our waiting on God will depend greatly on our faith of what He is. In our text we have the close of a passage in which God reveals Himself as the Everlasting and Almighty One. It is as that revelation enters our soul that the waiting will become the spontaneous expression of what we know Him to be.....

The believer’s life is described in the New Testament under two aspects: “acceptable to God and approved of man” (Rom. 14:18). We are to “walk and please God” (1 Thess. 4:1); to “walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing” (Col. 1:10); and to “do those things that are pleasing in His ...

‘In the way of Thy judgments, have we waited for Thee.’ Reflect on humility, conviction, and the call to holiness in Andrew Murray’s short meditation “Waiting on God: As a God of Judgment.” Read the full post and be encouraged to wait on the Lord with honesty and prayer: https://wix.to/eXDyCgu

‘In the way of Thy judgments, have we waited for Thee.’ That will prove true in our inner experience. If we are honest in our longing for holiness, in our prayer to be wholly the Lord’s, His holy presence will stir up and discover hidden sin, and bring us very low in the bitter conviction of t...
