๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ Juneteenth โ€“ June 19 ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

Today, we commemorate Juneteenth, a day that marks the end of slavery in the United States and celebrates freedom, resilience, and progress.

On June 19, 1865, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was issued, enslaved people in Texas finally learned they were free. Juneteenth serves as a reminder of our nation's history and the ongoing pursuit of equality, justice, and opportunity for all.

As we observe this important day, let us reflect on the sacrifices of those who came before us, honor the contributions of African Americans throughout our history, and continue working together to build stronger, more inclusive communities.

Happy Juneteenth from the City of Venus.

๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธHappy Flag Day!๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

Today, June 14, we honor the American flag and the values it representsโ€”freedom, unity, courage, and opportunity.

Since its adoption in 1777, the Stars and Stripes has served as a symbol of our nation's history, resilience, and the sacrifices made by those who have proudly served and defended our country.

As we celebrate Flag Day, take a moment to reflect on what our flag means to you and the many freedoms we enjoy as Americans.

๐Ÿšง Street Reconstruction Project Update ๐Ÿšง

The contractor for the street reconstruction project has begun work on W. CR 109 and will be reconstructing the roadway between CR 213 and CR 214.

While crews are working in this area, they will also be reconstructing Savanh Street and Pakse Street.

๐Ÿšฆ Traffic Control Measures
Traffic control devices will be in place throughout the project. During active construction, traffic may be reduced to a single lane, and motorists may be required to stop and alternate through the work zone.

โš ๏ธ Please use caution when traveling through these areas, watch for workers and construction equipment, and allow extra travel time as delays may occur.

We appreciate your patience and cooperation as these improvements are completed to enhance our community's roadways.
