Every fire department has a story to tell, and that story is often reflected in the symbols we wear with pride.

Our logo, patch, scramble, and department colors are more than just artwork, they represent who we are, where we’ve been, and the values we stand for as firefighters serving the City of Venus.

The Venus Fire Department logo symbolizes our commitment to protecting the citizens of our community. Our department patch honors the generations of firefighters who came before us and built the foundation of service that we continue today. The Seven Deuce represents the pride, brotherhood, and identity unique to those who answer the call at Firehouse 72. And our red and black colors are a visible reminder of the courage, sacrifice, strength, and resilience required in this profession.

These traditions create ownership. They unite us as one team with one mission. They foster pride in our organization and ensure that the legacy of those who served before us lives on through those who serve today.

At Venus Fire Department, we don’t just wear these symbols we earn them. They represent a promise to our community that we will continue to serve with character, honor, respect, integrity, service and teamwork and unwavering dedication.

Logo. Patch. Scramble. Colors.
More than a brand. More than a tradition.
It’s who we are.

In my first year of being the Fire Chief I promise you that our staff owns our vision, mission, and values. I am fortunate to have some of the best in the business to serve the City of Venus and community.

The Venus Fire Department experienced significant flooding issues as a result of the heavy rainfall event that occurred last weekend. As we work through the recovery process, Fire Administration and operations have been temporarily relocated to the Public Works facility next door.

Please rest assured that the emergency response capabilities and operational readiness of the Venus Fire Department have not been, and will not be, interrupted during this transition. Our firefighters remain fully staffed, equipped, and prepared to respond to emergencies and continue serving our community at the highest level.

We appreciate the patience, understanding, and support of our citizens as we navigate these challenges and work diligently to restore our facilities.

Respectfully,

Chief Brad Hargrove
Venus Fire Department

Member Monday!

Please join us in recognizing Travis Sonne as C-Shift's Captain. Travis is a dedicated husband and proud father of three, who balances his commitment to both his family and his career with excellence. When he's not serving the Venus community, he spends his days off as an instructor at Hill College, helping train and equip the next generation of first responders.

A lifelong member of the area, Travis grew up in Alvarado, where he graduated from high school before continuing his education at Hill College to complete his fire and paramedic training. He has devoted most of his adult life to the fire service, bringing experience, leadership, and a strong sense of purpose to his role.

Outside of work, Travis enjoys spending time at the lake boating with his family, or cheering on his kids at their many sports and school activities. His passion for service, both on and off duty, makes him a valued leader on C-Shift and in the community.

Travis, I am proud to have you as a part of our fire family and as a member of our leadership team.
