Project Update: Oak View and Piru Slurry Seal Work
Following last week’s roadway preparation and crack-sealing work, PWA will apply slurry seal on the following streets this week:

Wednesday, August 26 – Oak View:
Almond Avenue, Thomas Street, Katherine Avenue East, Karen Avenue, Andrus Street, Pathelen Avenue, Jeannie Avenue, Monte Via and Rio Via

Thursday, August 27 – Oak View:
Craig Street East, Susan Avenue North, Dale Avenue North, Raymond Street, Maxine Avenue, Donna Street, and High Street

Friday, August 28 – Piru:
Camulos Street, Citrus View Drive, Marina Circle East, Marina Circle West, River Street and Temescal Street

Please refer to the attached map for the specific work limits. Please follow directions from onsite personnel and do not enter freshly treated areas. Slurry seal requires approximately four hours to dry. Temporary street closures, parking restrictions, and minor traffic delays should be expected.

“No Parking” signs have been posted in advance. Please avoid driving, walking, or biking on freshly treated pavement until the streets reopen.

Trash collection will continue as scheduled and will not be impacted. Emergency access will be maintained.

PROJECT STATUS UPDATE: Work is nearing completion on the Ventura County Public Works Agency Culvert Replacement – Loma Drive MP 0.01 project! Concrete sidewalks and asphalt pavement have been installed, and two-way vehicular access is restored. Temporary pedestrian access remains in place until safety railing is installed. Intermittent closures will be in place as work continues. Please follow all detours and posted closures, and drive carefully around workers. Anticipated construction completion is now August 2026. The County thanks Toro Enterprises, Inc. of Oxnard, who is the construction Contractor on this project. Thank you for your patience.

Public Notice – Overnight Bridge Deck Rehabilitation Work

Ventura County Public Works Agency will be performing bridge deck rehabilitation work at multiple bridge locations throughout the unincorporated areas of Ventura County to preserve and extend the service life of these structures and improve safety for the traveling public.

Construction Schedule
• Work Hours: 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. to minimize impacts to daytime traffic.
• Construction Period: 8/19/2026 – 10/1/2026

Traffic Impacts
• Full road closures will be in effect at each bridge location during active nighttime construction.
• Clearly marked detour routes will be provided where applicable.
• Emergency vehicles will be accommodated.
• Motorists are encouraged to allow additional travel time, reduce speed in work zones, and follow all posted signs.

Stewart Canyon Debris Basin Cleanout Resumes
Beginning August 4, Ventura County Public Works Agency–Watershed Protection will resume sediment removal at the Stewart Canyon Debris Basin. This important work will restore the basin's capacity to help protect the community from flooding before the next rainy season.

🚛 Hauling operations are expected to begin August 4 and continue for approximately 2 weeks. Residents may experience brief traffic delays between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. along Canada Street and N. Signal Street as trucks transport sediment to the disposal site.
