Live Fire Training on June 20th

Live Fire Training on June 20th

Cypress Pointe Fire & Rescue will be conducting live fire training on a home near the intersection of Henderson Road and Ring Road starting around 8am on June 20th, 2026.

This training is valuable to new and experience personnel. The training will provide multiple opportunities for several training objectives to be completed. The training will conclude later in the day with a burn down of the structure under controlled conditions.

Once the burn down has been completed and the property is safe for Fire Department personnel and apparatus to clear the property will be turned over to the property owner to monitor. There is a high likelihood that there will be remaining smoke/fire after we depart the site. If anyone has concerns after the Fire Department personnel/apparatus are no longer on scene please do not hesitate to call 911.

Today, Firefighter Bradly and Firefighter Tanner had the opportunity to host Story Time at Cypress Pointe Fire & Rescue!

We were excited to welcome over 33 children and their families to the fire station for a morning of stories, learning, and fun. The kids had the chance to meet firefighters, explore the station, and learn a little about fire safety along the way.

Building relationships with our community starts at a young age, and we are grateful for the opportunity to help educate and inspire the next generation.

Thank you to everyone who joined us today. We loved seeing all the smiling faces and look forward to our next Story Time event!

🌀🏒 Hurricane Season Is in Full Effect… and So Are the Hurricanes! 🏒🌀

While we’re keeping an eye on the tropics this hurricane season, there’s one hurricane that’s already caused some damage — the Carolina Hurricanes just blew past the Vegas Golden Knights! 😆

On a serious note, hurricane season runs through November 30, and now is the time to prepare:

✅ Build or update your emergency kit
✅ Review your family’s emergency plan
✅ Keep phones and batteries charged
✅ Monitor trusted weather sources
✅ Know your evacuation routes

Let’s hope the only Hurricanes making headlines are the ones on the ice! Stay prepared, stay informed, and stay safe this season.

Tonight members of Cypress Pointe Fire & Rescue spent time training on rural water supply operations. In areas without fire hydrants, firefighters must be able to establish a reliable water source using tankers, portable tanks, and drafting operations.

Regular training helps our crews work efficiently, maintain a continuous water supply, and be prepared to protect lives and property when every gallon counts.

We train today so we’re ready tomorrow. 🚒🔥

Task Force Members Complete Advanced Training

This past week, three members of the Moore County Water Rescue Task Force attended a two-part water rescue certification course at the state-of-the-art Water Rescue Training Facility located at Fayetteville Technical Community College.

The training resulted in state certification in both Technical Rescue Surface Water Rescue and Technical Rescue Swift Water Rescue. While the courses include an important classroom component, the majority of the training focuses on hands-on, real-world rescue scenarios conducted in the facility's specialized training pool.

Participants were challenged with a variety of rescue situations, including:

Rescuing victims in surface water and swift water environments
Assisting occupants stranded in vehicles during flooding events
Utilizing rope systems and rescue equipment to safely recover both rescuers and victims
Conducting rescue operations during both daytime and nighttime conditions

Representing Cypress Pointe Fire & Rescue and the Moore County Water Rescue Task Force were:

Captain Matt Black
Lieutenant Holden Hall
Firefighter Brian Kreitz

The Moore County Water Rescue Task Force which is staffed and overseen by Cypress Pointe Fire/Rescue currently consists of 19 specially trained members who provide a wide range of water rescue capabilities, including surface water rescue, swift water rescue, and dive operations. Continued training and certification ensure that task force members remain prepared to respond safely and effectively to water-related emergencies throughout our region.

Thanks to Captain Black, Lieutenant Hall, and Firefighter Kreitz on successfully completing this challenging and valuable training.

In May of 2026 CPFR responded to several wrecks throughout the fire district.
Attached are a few photos from some of these wrecks. We always encourage everyone to wear their seatbelt, slow down and do not become a distracted driver.
Also, its motorcycle season, lots of motorcycles out enjoying the weather, make sure that you anticipate them on the highways.

🚒 Hydrant Maintenance Notice 🚒

Cypress Pointe Fire & Rescue crews will be out across the district painting fire hydrants, clearing vegetation, and performing routine maintenance to ensure hydrants remain visible and accessible during emergencies.

If you see our crews working, please use caution and give them room to work safely. Remember, keeping at least 3 feet of clearance around fire hydrants can help save valuable time when seconds matter.
