On June 3, 2026, at approximately 1308 hours, our department received a report of a potential wood fire on Marks Road, with reports of heavy smoke. Brush 238 responded to investigate and discovered a rapidly spreading woods fire, threatening a large field and home on one side and multiple homes on the other. Upon confirmation, Brush 238 notified dispatch to activate pagers. A tanker was requested from Cypress Pointe, and a brush truck and tanker from Spout Springs Emergency Services were also dispatched. Due to Cypress Pointe's being on another call, a tanker from Benhaven Emergency Services was requested to provide additional support. Our engine and tanker arrived on scene, establishing a water point from a nearby hydrant, while our engine assisted with structural protection and extinguishment on Mike Rouse. The Spout Springs brush truck utilized water supplied by the Cypress Pointe truck to control the left flank, while the Spout Springs and Benhaven tankers supported our brush truck and engine on the right flank. The combined efforts successfully brought the fire under control. NC Forestry responded and established a plowed line around the perimeter..it was estimated to be aprox 6acres that burned.
We extend our gratitude to all participating departments for their assistance in safely controlling the fire and protecting structures. Responding units included E233, B238, Tanker 236, Benhaven, Cypress Pointe, Spout Springs, and NC Forestry.

On 6/2/26, our team conducted a simulation exercise for coned with Mr. Greg Greenlee, focusing on trauma response. The scenario involved a traffic incident where the driver was ejected from the vehicle and pinned underneath. The patient presented with a leg fracture and arm fracture, which were splinted and immobilized on a backboard for safe transport. Team members responded as they would in a real emergency, establishing command and providing patient care.
Thank you Moore County EMS for use of the ambulance

There have been multiple accidents on Lobelia Road this morning, one near New Home Baptist Church and another at White Rock. Drivers are advised to consider an alternate route. According to reports, the incident at the church involved a power pole and a detour has been implemented, however, this information is based on third-party reports and requires confirmation.

3/14 Marine Regiment Live Field Artillery Firing, June 1-12
The 3rd Battalion, 14th Marine Regiment will conduct live-fire training from June 1-12 on Fort Bragg for their certifications, command post exercise and line-fire training.
During this time, the Marines will fire significant amounts of ammunition from howitzers.
Field Artillery units from the 82nd Airborne Division will also be training throughout the month of June, resulting in loud explosions and reverberations that are often heard outside the installation.
While engaged in simulated combat conditions, all Field Artillery units will comply with existing requirements that prohibit them from massing fires larger than battalion size between the hours of 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. daily or from firing during the hours of 10 a.m. to noon on Sundays. There will be nighttime firing, as this is essential to maintain force readiness, but the quantity of rounds fired during hours of darkness is reduced.
