Crains Creek Fire Department Crains Creek Fire-Rescue provides emergency services to both Harnett and Moore Counties in North Carolina. We are a combination of both paid and volunteers.

We pride our selves with the service we provide with an ISO class 3 rating.

Starting September 1, 2026, applicants will have the option to schedule their NC Code Officials Qualification Board (COQB) exam through QUEST, the new remote online live-proctored testing option.
Here’s what you need to know:
*You must first receive authorization from the NC Code Officials Qualification Board to take the exam.
*Testing Options

Remote online live-proctored testing through QUEST
In-person testing at a PSI testing location

Through April 30, 2027: You may choose either remote or in-person testing.

Beginning July 1, 2027: All COQB exams will be administered remotely through online proctoring.

Important: You will select your testing method as part of the application process. Once your application is completed, you cannot change your exam method.

Today at 5:19pm units were dispatched to the intersection of Hilmongrove and Cypress Church Rd for a vehicle accident, car versus dirt bike. Upon arrival of rescue 239 the driver of the dirt bike was alert and talking. The occupants of the car were up walking around with no injuries. The motorcyclist was transported to the closest trauma center with what appeared to be non life threatening injuries.
Responding units were E232, Rescue 239, Squad 23, Benhaven Emergency Services ambulance, and NCSHP

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for central North Carolina.
DAY ONE...Today and tonight.

There is a Slight risk (level 2 of 4) of excessive rainfall today
into tonight, especially areas south and east of the Triad. Slow
moving storm clusters may produce locally heavy rainfall and areas of
flooding.

In addition, there is a Marginal risk (level 1 of 5) of isolated
strong to severe storms this afternoon and evening, with damaging
winds as the primary threat.
DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday.

Isolated pockets of excessive rainfall are possible Saturday,
primarily over the Sandhills and Coastal Plain. Otherwise, there is
a low probability for widespread hazardous weather.
