🦆🦆Upcoming Event Announcement: 2nd Annual Rubber Duck Hunt🦆🦆

We are excited to announce that the 2nd Annual Rubber Duck Hunt will take place from June 1st to June 30, 2026! This year, we will be hiding two ducks each week for participants to find. To ensure everyone understands the game and has a great experience, we will share a video detailing the game rules and important information on Sunday, May 31, 2026. We can’t wait for you to join the fun!

All roadways have reopened, and traffic can resume as usual. We appreciate the community's patience, understanding, and support during this time.

We also want to thank the Georgia State Patrol, Whitfield County Fire Department, Whitfield County Emergency Management, and all the volunteers for their assistance.

We want to thank everyone who donated candy to support the Halloween Drive-Thru and those who helped with this event.

🚧Lane Closure🚧

GA Hwy 71 (Cleveland Hwy) northbound right-hand lane will be closed from the entrance of Edwards Park to eastbound GA Hwy 2.

🚧Roads that will be closed🚧

GA Hwy 2 Eastbound (Praters Mill Road) from GA Hwy 71 will be closed past Prater Mill Historical Site. Stoping just before Lake Francis Road.

GA Hwy 2 Westbound(Praters Mill Road) from Lake Francis Road to GA Hwy 71 will be Closed

Wheat Drive at GA Hwy 2 will be closed

Old Praters Mill Road at GA Hwy 2 will be closed

Old Praters Mill Road at McGaughey Chapel Road will be closed

🚨Detour Routes🚨

**Directions for Georgia Highway 71 and Georgia Highway 2: **

**North of the intersection of Georgia Highway 71 and Georgia Highway2:**

- Take McGaughey Chapel Road eastbound to Crow Road.

- Turn right onto Crow Road, which leads to Georgia Highway 2.

**South of Georgia Highway 71 and Georgia Highway 2:**

- Take Beaverdale Road eastbound to Lake Francis Road.

- Turn left onto Lake Francis Road, which leads to Georgia Highway 2.

**For westbound traffic on Georgia Highway 2 east of Praters Mill wanting to go north on Georgia Highway 71:**

- Turn right onto Crow Road and head north to McGaughey Chapel Road.

- Turn left onto McGaughey Chapel Road, traveling west to Georgia Highway 71.

**For westbound traffic on Georgia Highway 2 east of Praters Mill wanting to go south on Georgia Highway 71:**

- Turn left onto Lake Francis Road, heading south to Beaverdale Road.

- Turn right onto Beaverdale Road, traveling west to Georgia Highway 71.
