For ALL emergencies, please bypass 911 and call 724-836-1551.

Westmoreland County affected by PA 911 outage.

The entire Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is currently experiencing a 911 system outage. This outage means standard 911 calls may not go through!

Attention: On Tuesday, September 14th at 6:00PM there will be a multi-agency fire department training in the area of Upper Grant Ave. near Columbia Ave. The training should conclude at approximately 08:00PM. Please do not be alarmed if you see several fire trucks and personnel in the area. Local businesses will not be affected and open for business as usual. Thank you.

New criteria to active wireless emergency alerts. The photo below is an example of what an actual alert would look like.

Edit: corrected the implementation date...

Starting August 2, Severe Thunderstorms deemed “destructive” will activate a Wireless Emergency Alert (WEA) on smartphones. Criteria for a destructive threat are hail at least 2.75 inch in diameter and/or 80 mph thunderstorm wind.

Tomorrow 06/22/2021 at 6 PM there will be a multi agency training conducted at 169 Lincoln Ave. Vandergrift at McMurtry Towers. There will be emergency service vehicles and personnel in the area. This is a planned event and there is no actual emergency. One lane of traffic will be closed, please use caution in the area.
