Rinconada Fire, Santa Lucia RD, LPF. Quick stop in the grassy hills near Cuyama. The crew put in some good work going direct on the right flank to the head. Held to 96 acres.

Tecuya Fire on the Mt Pinos RD, LPF. Good catch by all resources. It was good to get the crew up in some timber. The crew knocked out some big downhill line construction, leap frog tactics with two Kern County crews. Fire held at 76 acres.

Wrapped up day 3 of our Watt Training Burns on VSFB. It’s been a few years since our Fire Dept has been able to execute, but we are looking forward to many more live fire drills for years to come. This is all to prepare our new firefighters on fireline suppression tactics as well as training new module leaders and IC’s. Well done Vandenberg!!!

Huge thank you to Toms Burgers in Lompoc for always supporting the crew in the Annual CA Hotshots fundraiser tournament. We may have not won the tourney, but we had a great time trying and built up the team in doing so. We will always keep Toms as the Vandenberg Handcrew s first choice for the best burgers in town!!!!

Day 6 from the Alisal Fire. Currently on Div Tango on the NW corner of the fire. Constructing direct hotline, chasing spots and working with some great crews and air resources.
