A leadership update from YWCA Clark County 🧡

After nearly 20 years of connection to YWCA Clark County—as a volunteer, staff member, and for the past three years as CEO—Brittini Lasseigne will be transitioning out of her role on June 17 as her family relocates to Charleston, South Carolina.

Over the years, Brittini has helped shape YWCA Clark County in countless ways, from her early volunteer involvement to leadership roles on staff and ultimately serving as CEO. During her time as CEO, YWCA Clark County has expanded services, strengthened partnerships, grown impact, and continued showing up for survivors, families, and our community.

While leadership is changing, our mission is not.

YWCA Clark County remains in a strong position moving into this next chapter. Our Board of Directors is actively guiding the transition process, including identifying an interim CEO and launching a national search for our next leader. Our Executive Leadership Team remains committed to advancing the mission and continuing the important work ahead.

Brittini’s last day will be June 17 as she begins this next chapter with her family.

A look back at Sunday’s Denim Day Fashion Show — created to amplify today, April 29, International Denim Day. 👖💜

This wasn’t just a runway. It was a statement.

A community coming together to challenge victim-blaming and stand with survivors.

Denim Day began as a global response to injustice — and today, we carry that message forward. Because it’s never about what someone wore. It’s about accountability.

At YWCA Clark County, we’re proud to create spaces like this that turn awareness into action and visibility into impact.

Now it’s your turn:
👖 Wear your denim

Today is Denim Day. 👖💜

A global movement rooted in justice — and a call to change the conversation.

Denim Day began in the 1990s after an Italian court overturned a r**e conviction, claiming a survivor’s clothing implied consent.

In response, people around the world wore jeans in protest, standing together to say: we reject victim-blaming, and we stand with survivors.

At YWCA Clark County, we’ve created an empowering space to amplify Denim Day this week — proof that we stand with survivors of sexual assault and are committed to shifting the narrative.

Because the truth is, it was never about what someone wore.

The only person responsible for sexual assault is the perpetrator.

And yet, too often the conversation still sounds like:

“What were you wearing?”
“Were you drinking?”
“Why were you alone?”

Those questions shift blame onto survivors — and that’s exactly what Denim Day exists to change.

Today, we wear denim to move:

From questioning survivors to naming harm.
From silence to accountability.
From awareness to action.

Let’s change the conversation — together.
Stay tuned — more content to come. 🎥

Join us tomorrow on Denim Day, April 29 at 9 am, for a special FB livestream with The Difference—Vancouver’s locally owned boutique and our partner for last Sunday’s powerful Denim Day Fashion Show event.

Brittini Lasseigne, CEO of YWCA Clark County, will join The Difference as a featured guest to reflect on the event, drive awareness for YWCA's Sexual Assault program and continue the conversation.

Denim Day began as a global response to a court case that overturned a r**e conviction, by blaming a survivor’s clothing—sparking a movement to challenge victim-blaming. We now wear denim to stand in solidarity with survivors.

At YWCA Clark County, our Sexual Assault Program is here 24/7, 365 days a year—providing critical advocacy, hospital response, and ongoing support for survivors in our community.

Tune in, learn more, and be part of the movement. Wear denim. Start conversations. Support survivors.
