We will see lighter winds today, but it is still very dry, with breezy conditions, and low relative humidity, which is what fire loves. High fire danger still exists across the state.

Just don’t burn on Saturday. Forest Service has put parts of ENC in an extreme fire risk. We’ve already seen issues this week so low humidity and 30-40 mph wind gusts will help fires get out of control quicker.

Vanceboro Rescue Squad is seeking full and part time paramedic employees.
They provide Blue Cross & Blue Shield medical insurance, dental insurance, vision plan, and an IRA plan is available. 24/72 rotating schedule, vacation, and competitive salaries.
Requirements NC Paramedic Certification, NCDL, ACLS, PALS, BLS Certifications. Withing the first 6 months of employment we require PHTLS Certification and EVD, EVOC, or equivalent. Candidates must be able to pass a Technical Scope of Practice for Craven County. NC Technical Rescuer and TR Water Rescue are not required but will be a benefit.

Streets Ferry Road between Main Street and Piney Neck Road is closed due to flooding.

‼️BE ADVISED! ROAD CLOSURE TOMORROW DURING THE STRAWBERRY FEST PARADE‼️PARADE BEGINS AT 10AM. THE FOLLOWING ROUTES WILL BE AFFECTED: NC43, BAILEY LANE, MAIN ST AND FARMLIFE.

To avoid these routes during this time, use HWY17, NC118 to Piney Neck Rd. Thank you for your patience during this time. We look forward to seeing everyone at the Strawberry Fest.
