Planning to vote by mail in the May 5, 2026, Primary Election? This is your final reminder! ⏰

The deadline to submit your absentee ballot application is Tuesday, April 28, 2026, by 8:30 p.m.

Key Details:
Deadline: Your application MUST be received by your county Board of Elections by 8:30 p.m. this Tuesday.

How to Apply: You can print an application from the Ohio Secretary of State’s website or pick one up at your local board of elections.

**New Rule for 2026: Once you receive and cast your ballot, it must be received by the Board of Elections by 7:30 p.m. on Election Day (May 5) to be counted. The old postmark grace period no longer applies!

Don't wait until the last minute—get your request in today to ensure you have enough time to receive and return your ballot! 📬

Remember, if you plan to vote absentee, your ballot must be received by your county board of elections by 7:30 p.m., on Election Day. The Van Wert County Board of Elections has announced that the close of registration for the May 5, 2026, Primary/Special Election is April 6, 2026. The Board office is located at 1362 East Ervin Road and will be open from 8:30 AM to 9 PM on Monday, April 6, 2026. Anyone NOT currently registered in Van Wert County or who has moved since the last election and has not changed their address with the Board of Elections should stop by one of the following locations and update their registration. Registration locations in Van Wert County are: Van Wert License Bureau; Brumback & Delphos Public Library; Department of Job & Family Services; WIC; Treasurer’s Office, Auditor’s Office, and Title Department in the Courthouse and the Board of Elections Office at 1362 East Ervin Road. You may also register to vote or update your voter registration online at https://olvr.ohiosos.gov/. Any questions regarding voter registration may be answered by contacting the Board office at 419-238-4192.
