Important Notice: Local Burn Ban in Matagorda County
We would like to inform you that a local burn ban has been enacted in Matagorda County, effective immediately. This action is in accordance with the guidelines established by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) and the State of Texas burning regulations. NO VARIANCES WILL BE GIVEN.
Under the current burn ban, all outdoor fires, including controlled burns, recreational fires, and any other open burning, are prohibited until further notice. This measure is necessary to ensure public safety and protect air quality within our community.
Please review and adhere to the following guidelines:
• No outdoor burning of any kind, including debris, trash, or other materials.
• Follow all instructions from local authorities regarding the burn ban.
• Inform staff and students of the restrictions and the importance of compliance.
• NO BURNING
For your reference, the Texas Administrative Code (TAC) Title 30, Chapter 111, outlines the regulations concerning outdoor burning, and TCEQ’s guidelines should be followed to ensure safety and compliance.
