Crawford County Conservation District

Crawford County Conservation District After the Dust Bowl ecological disaster, local conservation districts were formed to provide technical assistance for water and land resource management.

The Crawford County Conservation District (CCCD) promotes good farming techniques, used in helping to keep soil on the fields and our waters clean all while conserving the productivity of Arkansas' working lands. Assistance is provided to agriculture producers to develop operations that reduce soil erosion and protect water quality. We participate in the Arkansas State Poultry Registration, Beaver

Control Program, Nutrient Management Program and the Technical Service Provider Program. We offer education and information on our natural resources along with our conservation partners to landowners, homeowners, educators, agricultural producers, developers and communities about soil and water conservation issues through field days, county fair exhibits, school programs, newsletters, news articles and now Facebook. We hold an annual nut fundraiser in the fall...
"The Best Pecans at a Fair Price"
which helps us to be able to continue to offer conservation education to the public.

During the 2025 legislative session, the Arkansas Cattlemenโ€™s Association advocated for practical solutions that help cattle producers do business more efficiently.

One of those efforts resulted in Act 621 of 2025, establishing a farmer sales tax identification card. Beginning January 2, 2026, producers can apply through the Arkansas Taxpayer Access Point at atap.arkansas.gov. The application will require 3 years of tax documents or, for young and beginning farmers, the completion of a 3-year business plan form that will be found on the website.

This tool is designed to simplify the exemption process while safeguarding the integrity of the system.
