🎨 Join Us for a 6 Week Beginner Acrylic Painting Class!

Have you always wanted to try painting but weren't sure where to start? This fun and welcoming class is designed for beginners and anyone looking to explore their creative side. Start up supplies are provided.

Introduction to painting with acrylics will cover basic techniques including handling painting materials, mixing paints and using brushes. No prior drawing or painting experience required. The focus will be on having fun, experimenting and learning new creative processes. We will work with both paper and canvas surfaces. The instructor is Morgain Bailey, a multi-disciplinary artist who loves to teach creative process in a fun, relaxed and low-pressure atmosphere.

Come learn something new, meet fellow creatives, and enjoy six weeks of artistic exploration in a supportive environment. Space may be limited, so register today!

A dog has been found in the Hamlin/Caswell area along US Route 1A and we are trying to help locate the pup’s owner.

ATV REGISTRATION REMINDER FROM MAINE IF&W

All Maine ATV registrations expire on June 30th each year.

The Town Office has not received any registration stickers to date and advises citizens to register online. The Town Office will only be doing 'NEW' registrations' once the registration stickers are received.

✅ Maine residents may renew registrations online
✅ Nonresidents may register or renew online
✅ New registrations must be completed through a registration agent or the MDIFW Augusta office

⚠️ IMPORTANT:
Oversized ATVs wider than 65 inches or weighing more than 2,000 pounds cannot be registered in Maine.

💲 Registration Fees:
• Residents: $71
• Nonresident 7-Day: $101
• Nonresident Season: $116

VAN BUREN - April 27, 2026 - Starting on May 4, the Maine Department of Transportation (MaineDOT) will begin a bridge replacement of St. Mary's Bridge over Violette Brook with approach repairs.

Drivers will be detoured to Main Street in Van Buren.

Drivers and pedestrians should follow the detour map and detour signs while on site.

Motorists should expect delays and use caution when traveling through the detour zone.

The existing arch culvert will be replaced with an updated open span precast composite bridge deck and abutments.

The project is expected to be completed by October 2026.

The contractor on this project is BMB Construction of Holden, Maine.

The contract amount is $2,664,000.
