⚠️ UPDATE: BEACH REMAINS CLOSED
The beach at Van Buren Park remains closed until further notice.
Water access at Belleville Lake has been temporarily restricted after high levels of E. coli were detected in the water due to the storms.
Residents are urged to avoid swimming, wading, or doing any water-related activities at the beach at this time. E. coli bacteria can cause gastrointestinal illness and other health issues, especially in children and those with weakened immune systems.
E. coli does not survive long in water and will usually return to safe levels within a few days. Keep an eye out for updates regarding the bacteria levels to know when it is safe to resume water activities.
