Dunes Leathernecks Helping the public, Marines and Marine veteran in Northwest Indiana with information on how we work with the community and Marines in the State of Indiana. S.

The Marine Corps League perpetuates the traditions and spirit of ALL Marines and Navy FMF Corpsmen, who proudly wear or who have worn the eagle, globe and anchor of the Corps. It takes great pride in crediting its founding in 1923 to World War I hero, then Major General Commandant John A. Lejeune. It takes equal pride in its Federal Charter, approved by An Act of the Seventy-Fifth Congress of the

United States of America and signed and approved by President Franklin D. Roosevelt on August 4, 1937. The League is the only Federally Chartered Marine Corps related veterans organization in the country. Since its earliest days, the Marine Corps League has enjoyed the support and encouragement of the active duty and Reserve establishments of the U. Marine Corps. Today, the League boasts a membership of more than 76,000 men and women, officer and enlisted, active duty, Reserve Marines, honorably discharged Marine Veterans and qualified Navy FMF Corpsmen and is one of the few Veterans Organizations that experiences increases in its membership each year.

It’s that time of year again! Yes, Marine Corps League annual membership dues are due. Have you ever wondered exactly how your membership dues are spent?

Your contributions play a crucial role in sustaining the League and supporting our mission. Here’s a closer look at how your dues are utilized:

1. Operational Costs: A portion goes towards administrative expenses, meeting facilities, and essential supplies that keep our local detachments functioning smoothly.

2. Community Support: Dues help fund programs that give back to our communities, including veteran assistance, scholarships for military families, and local service projects.

3. Veteran Assistance: Your support enables us to provide vital resources for veterans, such as counseling, rehabilitation programs, and support for those transitioning to civilian life.

4. Events and Commemorations: Funds are allocated for organizing events like parades, memorial services, and other activities that honor our Marines and their families.

5. Member Services: Dues also help provide services and benefits to members, including newsletters, merchandise, and valuable resources that enhance your membership experience.

6. Training and Development: Some of your dues support training programs that empower our members to better serve their communities and fellow veterans.

By paying your dues, you’re not just maintaining your membership; you’re actively contributing to a legacy of support for our veterans and communities.

Thank you for being a vital part of the Marine Corps League!
