On July 31, 2026, the recycling truck used to transport materials from our drop-off locations to the recycling facility experienced a breakdown while traveling to Mobile, Alabama. Unfortunately, this is the only truck in our fleet capable of towing this type of load.
We initially anticipated that the repair would be completed quickly; however, we were informed last week that the issue is more significant than originally expected and that the truck remains under diagnosis.
As a result, we made the difficult decision to temporarily pause recycling operations, as we currently have no other means of transporting the collected materials to the recycling facility.
We sincerely appreciate your commitment to recycling and understand the importance of keeping this service available. We are working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible and hope to resume recycling operations in the near future.

As a reminder, the Public Works Dept at 600 Valastics Ave, Valparaiso accepts motor oil, car batteries and tires. All other Hazardous Waste should be taken to the Okaloosa County Hazardous Waste Drop-off facility located at 80 Ready Ave, Fort Walton Beach, FL.
