Due to the Memorial Day holiday observed on Monday, May 25, trash pickup will be delayed by one day. Monday's pickup will be picked up on Tuesday, Tuesday's pick up is Wednesday, Wednesday will be Thursday, and Thursday's pickup will be picked up on Friday.
Valparaiso City Services' offices will be closed Monday, May 25, 2026. Regular office hours will resume on Tuesday, May 26, 2026. If you require assistance during this time, please call 1-844-296-6810.

The City Government Academy has kicked off for the season! Last night they heard from Bob Thompson, Planning Director; and Max Rehlander, Engineering Director. Vale Park Road will be closed from the five point roundabout at Calumet Avenue & Roosevelt Road to the Silhavy Road and Vale Park Road roundabout today, May 20, through afternoon to allow for repair of a water main break. Motorists are encouraged to use Glendale Boulevard and Country Club Road as alternate routes.

Come out and support the Valparaiso Fire Department and even meet some of the team from 4:00 to 7:00!

From 6:30AM-10:00PM on May 19th, a percentage of all orders at Valparaiso’s Chick-fil-A will benefit the Valparaiso Fire Department.

If you happen to order through the Chick-fil-A app be sure to enter in the code “Fire26”.

There will be a fire engine at this location from 4PM-7PM for any interested kiddos (or adults) who may want to check out being up in the driver’s seat! We will also be giving out Valpo Fire swag.
