I want to take a moment to thank everyone who helped me get here. To the wonderful group of ladies who taught me the ins and outs of campaigning and were there to give advice every step of the way- you are all amazing!
To my boys who listened to my platform over and over again, helped to place signs and knock on doors all over Duneland- I couldn’t ask for better.
To my family and friends who talked me down when I got frustrated, and talked me up when I got discouraged- thanks for being there!
To the entire Duneland community for listening to what I had to say, voting for me, and trusting me with this seat- I promise I will work tirelessly for all of you.

Now, let’s get to work!

I recently heard a statistic that up to 60% of people don't know who they are voting for when they show up to polling places on Election Day.
For this reason, I am looking for people who are willing to hang out next Tuesday, November 8th and encourage people to vote Beth Mehling for Duneland School Board, Liberty township. There are 12 polling places I would like to cover for at least part of the 12 hours they will be open.
You can sign up on the attached Google Doc link, or you can call/text/DM me. I set it up for 3-hour shifts, but if you can't stay the whole time, no worries!
Thanks in advance for all the help so far, now it's time to take it into the home stretch.

Can we talk signs for a minute? I have had several people ask me how it works, since so many signs are popping up in so many places lately.
I have been following this for my entire campaign, yet it seems like other candidates have not. Yesterday while canvassing, I had several people on well traveled roads tell me that signs appeared on their property without their knowledge or consent, especially signs of my 2 opponents.
If a person can’t follow directions and do the right thing when it comes to something as inconsequential as yard signs, can you really expect them to do the right thing once elected to a public office?

Chamber to host DOWNTOWN TRICK OR TREAT on Friday Oct 28

The Duneland Chamber of Commerce will host its wildly popular Downtown Trick-or-Treat from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 28.

Merchants along South Calumet Road and Broadway will be distributing candy to all the kids, while the Chamber will also have goodies to go in its parking lot, 220 Broadway.

“We expect over 1,000 local children and their families to this trick-or-treating event,” Chamber President Maura Mundell said. “The streets are filled with little superheroes, witches, monsters, and ghosts. It’s fantastic! We welcome all organizations and businesses who want to give out candy in the Downtown.”

For the safety of goblins and ghouls alike, the following streets will be closed for the duration of the event:

*Broadway between South Calumet Road and Fourth Street.

*South/North Calumet Road between Indiana Ave. and Grant Ave.

*Second and Third Streets between Broadway and West Indiana Ave.

For more information about Downtown Trick-or-Treat, call the Chamber at 219-926-5513 or email [email protected]

Why should a person vote for me? I have summarized in just a few points:
1. woman/mom
Right now, women are severely underrepresented on the board. There is only 1 woman on the 5 member board, while the Duneland population hovers around 51% female.
2. Unbiased
I don't have any legal or ethical conflicts of interest through my family or employment that will require me to recuse myself from board proceedings. I am also not catering to a particular political party with this non-partisan position.
3. Informed
Through my involvement with the schools for the last 11 years, I have educated myself on the issues and concerns of teachers, students and families.
4. Fresh ideas
I am NOT part of a multi-generational legacy in the Duneland area. That is already covered on the board with 3 sitting members who are alumni and a 4th who spent 30+ years teaching in Duneland. We need fresh ideas and a reflection of the current population of the DSC.
