Valley Stream Union Free School District 24 is a unique elementary school district. Our 1,069 students are in Kindergarten through grade 6. There are 348 students at Brooklyn Avenue School, 325 students at William L. Buck School, and 396 students at Robert W. Carbonaro School. Upon completion of the sixth grade, our students continue their education in the junior and senior high schools of the Valley Stream Central High School District.

VALLEY STREAM TEACHERS ASSOCIATION PREPARES MEALS FOR FAMILIES IN NEED

Valley Stream 24 School District teachers who are members of the Valley Stream Teachers Association, chaired by James Fischman, prepared over 100 meals for the families of the Ronald McDonald House in New Hyde Park as part of the Community Relations Program geared towards helping those in need. This year VSTA also donated crossword puzzles, word finds, playing cards and other supplies to the Orzac Rehabilitation Center at Long Island Jewish Hospital, held a blood drive at Green Acres Mall and gave to Valley Stream food pantries.

At its recent Board of Education meeting, the Valley Stream 24 School District recently recognized its newest teachers, staff members who recently earned tenure, and staff members who are retiring. The district welcomes and congratulates those who are advancing their career with Valley Stream 24, and wishes a happy and healthy retirement to those who are moving on to the next chapter of their lives!

VALLEY STREAM 24 SCHOOLS STAND OUT THROUGH SCHOOL CENTS PROGRAM AT GREEN ACRES MALL

All three schools’ PTAs in Valley Stream District 24 were recognized for their outstanding participation in the School Cents program at Green Acres Mall. The School Cents program encourages school community members to shop at Green Acres Mall, with participating schools earning points based on dollars spent at the mall. At the conclusion of the program, schools are ranked according to the total points accumulated and receive monetary awards to support their educational programs and initiatives. Valley Stream District 24 schools’ PTAs achieved impressive results with Brooklyn Avenue School earning first place, Robert W. Carbonaro School placing third, and William L. Buck School securing fifth place among participating schools.

VALLEY STREAM 24 CELEBRATES FIRST DRAMA CLUB PERFORMANCE WITH PRODUCTION OF DISNEY’S “THE LITTLE MERMAID JR.”

The Valley Stream 24 School District proudly celebrated a milestone achievement with the debut performance of its newly established Drama Club. Under the dedicated leadership of teachers Breana Martinez and Joanna Walbrecht, students spent the past eight months rehearsing, learning, and working together to bring Disney’s ‘The Little Mermaid Jr.’ to life on stage. The highly anticipated production captivated audiences and showcased the remarkable talents, creativity and commitment of student performers. Family members, staff and community residents gathered to enjoy the magical performances, incredible renditions of classic songs, vibrant costumes, and impressive stagecraft.
