Due to high water and flooding conditions, the following areas are temporarily closed until further notice:

• Piazzeck Park (Delaware Boat Ramp)
• Ragweed Trail
• Grasshopper Trail

For your safety, please avoid these areas and do not enter or come into contact with flood waters. Flood waters can contain hidden hazards, strong currents, debris, and contaminants that pose serious risks.

We appreciate your cooperation and patience as we monitor conditions and work to ensure these areas are safe to reopen. Updates will be provided as conditions change.

🚨 FLOOD WARNING FOR THE DELAWARE RIVER 🚨

The Delaware River near Muscotah is forecast to reach moderate flood levels this afternoon, with a crest expected around 35.6 feet. Additional rainfall is forecast north of the river this evening and into Sunday, which could contribute to continued elevated water levels.

⚠️ Residents are urged to stay alert and avoid flooded roadways.

🌊 Remember:
🚫 TURN AROUND — DON'T DROWN
🚫 Never drive into floodwaters if you do not know the depth.
🚫 Most flood-related deaths occur in vehicles.

Flooding may impact low-lying areas, agricultural land, and secondary roads near the Delaware River. Please use caution when traveling and monitor local conditions before heading out.

📢 PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE – HEINEN SUBDIVISION
The Valley Falls Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at 5:30 PM at Valley Falls City Hall, 417 Broadway Street.
The purpose of the hearing is to receive public comment regarding a proposed subdivision of property located at 1568 Blue Mound Road, within the City of Valley Falls' 3-mile planning jurisdiction.
The applicant, Dan Heinen, is proposing to subdivide the property into six residential lots. Each lot would have direct access to Blue Mound Road, be served by Rural Water District No. 3, and utilize individual septic systems.
Residents are encouraged to attend and share their comments, questions, or concerns regarding the proposal.

This key administrative role serves as the official custodian of City records and provides support for City Council operations, utility billing, payroll, accounts payable/receivable, municipal court administration, and customer service.

🗓 Public Access Hours:
• Friday: 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM
• Saturday: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
• Sunday: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Please note: The normal 24/7 recycling drop-off availability will NOT be accessible from Friday through Sunday.

Please note that all City of Valley Falls offices will be closed on Monday, May 25, 2025, in observance of Memorial Day.
