trong Hearted Native Women’s Coalition, Inc. works to bring awareness against sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence, stalking, sex-trafficking, and murdered & missing, in Southern California. The purpose of our coalition is to enhance the capacity of survivors, advocates, victim organizations, and victim services providers to end violence against American Indian and Alaskan Native people. The overarching goal of the Strong Hearted Native Women’s Coalition program is to increase the approachability to improving systemic and community responses to victims. To raise awareness, educate, and to provide technical assistance, training, and supportive services for victims including cultural and unique barriers facing Native Americans.

Today is national MMIP Day. Tonight and tomorrow the Capitol Dome will be illuminated in red to kick off MMIP day. (The photo is from last year's commemoration.)

Tonight we will observe the day at Native American Monument in Capitol Park. Tomorrow, we have a full day of activities initiated by the California Legislative Native American Caucus: a news conference at 9 a.m., a Select Committee on Native American Affairs hearing at 10 a.m., and the annual candlelight vigil at 6 p.m. The events will be livestreamed on my page. Thank you to all who helped organize these events, who volunteered and who are attending. We will stop the violence and bring our people home!
