Line-of-Duty Death Service Information
It is with profound sadness that Solano Napa Professional Firefighters IAFF Local 1186 shares details honoring the life and service of Fairfield Fire
Engineer Christopher Bell, who courageously fought—and ultimately lost—his battle with occupational cancer on November 4, 2025, at the age of 41. His illness was directly linked to the hazards and exposures faced in the line of duty.
Engineer Bell dedicated more than 21 years of faithful service to the City of Fairfield. From joining the Fairfield Fire Department as a Reserve Firefighter on his 18th birthday in 2003, to earning Reserve Firefighter of the Year, promoting to Fire Engineer, and serving on USAR and the Apparatus Committee, Chris exemplified professionalism, integrity, and a deep commitment to service.
Above all, Chris was a devoted husband, father, and brother firefighter. He is survived by his wife, Stefanie, and their children, Rowan, Nova, and Lincoln. His warmth, humor, and courage will never be forgotten.
