"Kensico officially opened our school garden and composting area! This initiative connects directly to our science curriculum and sustainability efforts, aligned with New York State’s 'NY Inspires' initiative and 'Portrait of a Graduate.' Students will have hands-on opportunities to visit the garden, grow plants, compost food scraps and return the compost to the garden, learning how small actions can make a big difference for our community and the environment. We are grateful to the Kensico Site-Based Team, the Valhalla Schools Foundation, our Facilities Team, district leadership, Board of Education, Valhalla Troop 1 and all the community members who helped bring this project to life. We look forward to seeing our students learn, explore and build a lasting commitment to sustainability as we begin this exciting new chapter at Kensico!" - Kensico School Principal Rob Schliessman
