Don’t just move over because the police are watching, move over to keep us safe!

🚨 MIDDLESEX TOWNSHIP POLICE ADVISORY 🚨

With spring upon us and more vehicles back on the road, we are working to bring awareness to the Pennsylvania Move Over Law (Title 75 § 3327).

Over the next few weeks, officers will be out proactively enforcing this law to help protect first responders, tow operators, and motorists on the roadside.

When you see emergency lights:

➡️ MOVE OVER to the next lane if safely possible
➡️ If you can’t move over, SLOW DOWN
➡️ On single-lane roads, reduce speed by at least 20 MPH

💵 Violations: $500 fine and 2 points on your license

This is about safety — for our officers, emergency crews, and the public.

Move over if you can. Slow down if you can’t. 🚓

We recently took delivery of two positive pressure ventilation fans thanks to funds secured from Pennsylvania Office of the State Fire Commissioner. These help blow smoke and dangerous fumes or chemicals from structures and we’re excited to have them!

This is a great video by the Adams Area Fire District. But let us be a little more blunt: We cannot help you if you do not help us. Please take a few minutes to dig out any fire hydrants near your homes.
