Important Reminder: Postmark Law Update

Attention Middlesex Township taxpayers:

Please be aware that new postmark laws are now in effect for tax payments.
• Payments are considered timely only if they are postmarked by the due date
• Metered mail dates are NOT accepted as proof of timely mailing
• If your envelope does not have a valid USPS postmark, it may be considered late

IMPORTANT (April 28–April 30):
If you are mailing your payment during the final days of the discount period (4/28–4/30), you must take your payment inside the post office and request a hand-stamped postmark at the counter.
Dropping it in a mailbox is not guaranteed to receive a qualifying postmark in time.

To avoid penalties:
• Mail early and allow time for USPS processing
• Or consider paying in person or online (if available)

My goal is always to help you avoid unnecessary penalties and keep this process as smooth as possible.

Hello Middlesex residents! County and Township taxes went out last week. I will be available for in person payments on Mondays from 4-6 PM and Wednesdays 9:30-11AM. Hello residents of Middlesex Township! Thank you for a great year of payments. While I know I am not your favorite person to pay, it is greatly appreciated to keep the township, county, and school running! There are very limited hours next week for in person payments. Please call or email to schedule an appointment. As a reminder, taxes must be paid in cash or certified funds after December 15. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all!

Hi residents! Thank you to all who have paid and made this school collection operate smoothly! There was an error for my credit card website this past week. I apologize for the inconvenience it may have caused. I have created a work around, so the payments should be able to go through now. If you continue to have issues, please let me know! For these last two weeks of discount, in person hours will be:
Monday September 22 4-6PM
Wednesday September 24 9:30-11AM
Saturday September 27 10AM-12PM
Monday September 29 4-6PM
Tuesday September 30 9:30-11AM
If these times do not work for you, please let me know!

Hello residents! County and township bills will enter penalty on July 1! To avoid the 10% penalty, please pay or postmark by June 30. If you need to pay in person, please call or email to arrange! I hope you all are staying cool during this heat wave! As always, call or email with questions!

Happy spring! I hope you all had a wonderful Easter! Reminder: Discount expires on April 30 for the county/township collection. Postmark is accepted. There is a drop box located at the front doors of the municipal building as well. In person hours are offered Saturday, April 26, from 10-2. Also, Monday, April 28, from 4-6, and Wednesday, April 30 from 9:30-11 and again at 4-5. Online payments are accepted for a fee. Any questions please call or email!

Hello residents! Tax notices were mailed the first week of March for the 2025 County and Township collection. If you haven’t received your notice, please reach out so I can get it to you! Discount is good until April 30. In person office hours are printed on the tax bill. They are Mondays from 4-6 PM and Wednesdays from 9:30-11 AM. Payments can be made in person during office hours, by mail, or online at www.middlesextownship.org. Online payments do incur an additional fee. As always, feel free to reach out with any questions! School tax notices were mailed last week. They should be coming to you this week if you haven’t already received it. I will be in the office for in person hours from August to September on Mondays from 4-6PM and Wednesdays from 9:30-11:00AM. If these times do not work for you, please call and let me know. I’m happy to meet you, but call before stopping at the township as I am not always there. As always you can drop your payment in the drop box located at the front door label “Tax Payments”. New this year: pay online for less than a stamp when you choose ECHECK option! Credit card also accepted for a small fee. Please be sure to choose the correct button when paying online! Thank you all for another great year! Enjoy the rest of your summer! Be sure to stop and take advantage of the Middlesex Township Community Day August 17 from 12-8! Fireworks in the evening!
