Log Jammer Memories The now defunct Log Jammer, log flume ride at Magic Mountain. Formerly named "Save the Log Jammer" Fearing public outcry, at the loss of the beloved Log Jammer.

With the birth of Magic Mountain in 1971, so came the Log Jammer. Since then, the Log Jammer stood by, waiting, to take us on a long, winding, watery adventure, to it's two whiteknuckle drops. A refreshing ride, to ward off the relentless, Santa Clarita heat. On October 31st, 2011, Six Flags confirmed it's rumored demise. Six Flags waited till the last second to announce it's closure. otice, no fond farewell, no last rides. Six Flags, wanted to secretly, remove Log Jammer, in the middle of the night, with no witnesses. With only minutes of notice, on Halloween afternoon, a lucky few, got the last rides, on one of the last, great log flumes, in the world. Goodbye Log Jammer, You deserved a better end, to your 40 years of service.

Here's a great shot from our friend Sandy Sinner! The picture of Jet Stream on the left was taken the year Jet Stream opened in 1972. Here it is again when the Dragon opened in 1974. .

The Dragon marked the Park's 3rd transportation ride at Magic Mountain following the Metro monorail and the Funicular. Later in 1975 we'd see the Grand Centennial Excursion Railroad make its debut.

The only transportation ride remaining at Six Flags Magic Mountain today is the funicular (Orient Express) renamed The Honda Express. Moreover... Jet Stream is the last flume ride at the park since the Log Jammers removal in 2011. Lots of changes since the early days. 🚩

1971: Here's rare shot of the Jog Jammer on Whitewater Lake... with the Valencia Terrace in the background. I remember the terrace being a relaxing location with a view great view!
