City Council and City leadership recently toured the future home of several City departments as preparations continue for their upcoming relocation.

The Labor Department building will become the new home of Municipal Court, Customer Service, and Valdosta Main Street, bringing these City services together in a new space designed to better serve our community.

During the tour, City leaders had the opportunity to walk through the facility, see the vision, and learn more about plans for each department’s transition.

We look forward to sharing more updates with the community as work continues and these departments prepare for their move!

Across Valdosta, today was a time to pause, reflect, and remember.

Our community gathered alongside Lowndes County, GA for a memorial ceremony at the Historic Courthouse, honoring the lives lost 25 years ago on September 11, 2001.

We are grateful to everyone who joined us in remembering those we lost, honoring those who answered the call, and recognizing the families and survivors forever impacted by that day.

Yesterday morning, City of Valdosta officials and department leadership joined Valdosta High School for an Attendance Parade, celebrating students and encouraging them to continue showing up, working hard, and making the most of every opportunity.

Our students represent the future of Valdosta, and moments like these are a great opportunity for leaders across our community to remind them that their hard work does not go unnoticed.

Valdosta showed up this weekend for a morning of remembrance, community, and unity at the annual 9/11 Memorial 5K. 🇺🇸

The Valdosta Fire Department’s annual 9/11 Memorial 5K brought first responders, runners, families, and community members together to honor the lives lost and the sacrifices made on September 11, 2001.

From those who crossed the finish line to those who volunteered, cheered from the sidelines, sponsored the event, or helped behind the scenes, each person played a part in making the morning meaningful.

This is Valdosta at its best: coming together, supporting one another, and ensuring we never forget.

Join the City of Valdosta for an evening of FREE family fun featuring candy, games, music by DJ Chill Will, and more! Costumes are encouraged, but not required.
