Last week, we were able to participate in You Matter Day hosted by VSU's Counseling and Health Services. Students were able to see how mind-altering substances can hinder their abilities to perform tasks as simple as tossing a ring or unlocking a door. Thank you to everyone who came out with us and helped to make the event a success!

Held on the front lawn at Valdosta State University on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, 5 p.m. – 7 p.m., National Night Out is completely free and open to the public, showcasing the importance of police-community partnerships and citizen involvement in our fight to build safer communities.

Congratulations to our VSU football team on their win last night!

This year, UPD is excited to announce that we have launched a drone program. Drones allow us to increase security by getting an aerial view of events, helping us to ensure the safety of our students, faculty, staff, and visitors. As new technology emerges, UPD is committed to continuing to use these advances to provide new services to our community to enhance safety.

We are excited to help welcome back new and returning students in the coming days! UPD officers will be out on campus helping guide students and parents to where they need to be.

Our stats for June are in! While most of our students have gone home for the summer, our officers are working hard to maintain a safe environment for everyone still on campus and in the surrounding communities.
