Training Burns Scheduled at Callen Hill / Quemas de Entrenamiento Programadas en Callen Hill

The City of Vacaville Fire Department will conduct wildland training burns at Callen Hill on June 8, June 17, and June 19, between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, weather permitting.

These controlled burns provide firefighters with valuable hands-on training in wildland fire suppression while helping reduce hazardous vegetation that can contribute to wildfire risk.

What Residents Need to Know:
• Smoke and flames may be visible during operations.
• This is a planned training exercise and is not a cause for alarm.
• Access to the burn area will be restricted to authorized personnel.
• Individuals with respiratory conditions may wish to remain indoors and avoid the area during burn hours.

The operation will only proceed if strict safety, weather, and smoke management requirements are met and may be postponed if conditions change.

This week's temperatures are telling us Summer is Near! Beat the blazing heat with smart summer soaking. Prep your plants for the warm weather with this wonderful watering wisdom:

• Water wisely: Soak the soil at sunrise or sunset to stop swift evaporation and help hydration.
• Study sprinklers: Search your system for stuck sprinkler heads and clogged drips to save your stems.
• Stop sogginess: Overwatering ruins roots! Only add what's absolutely asked for to prevent sad, soggy soil.

Keep your garden gorgeous and green this season!
