As we recognize National Disability Employment Awareness Month, here are a few simple ways to make our workplaces more welcoming:

✅ Speak directly to the person, not their companion or interpreter.

✅ Ask before offering assistance.

✅ Respect personal space and mobility devices.

We were honored to attend the Texas Workforce Commission Vocational Rehabilitation (TWC VR) celebration of National Disability Awareness Month (NDEAM) on October 20th.

The event highlighted the importance of promoting inclusive employment opportunities, recognizing the valuable contributions of individuals with disabilities, and fostering a workforce where everyone has opportunity to succeed.

We were happy to have Ricardo "Ricky" Rendon, Business Relations Coordinator at TWC present and represent our commitment to workforce development and expanding opportunities for individuals in our community.

Thank you to the TWC Vocational Rehabilitation team for the invitation and for the continued work in promoting inclusion and accessibility in the workplace.

Inspiring the next Generation! ✈️

Freshman at San Felipe Del Rio CISD Early College High School had the opportunity to hear from pilots from Laughlin Air Force Base! The pilots shared their experiences in Aviation, discussed their career journeys, and gave students a firsthand look at the opportunities available in the Aviation industry.

Workforce Solutions Middle Rio Grande was proud to help make this connection and bring together local students and Aviation professionals to encourage career exploration and inspire future possibilities.

Experiences like these help students connect what they learn in the classroom to real-world careers and see what's possible for their future. Thank you LAFB pilots for taking the time to invest in our students! 🛩
