Genesis Group Did You Know:
• There are several walking trails in the Mohawk Valley to enjoy throughout the year.
• One is the Erie Canal Trail that can be entered at Canastota, Durhamville, Rome, Marcy (River Road/Lock 20), Utica, Frankfort, Ilion, Mohawk, Fort Plain, Little Falls and Canajoharie.
• The Chenango Canal Trail exists between Clinton and Oriskany Falls and can be entered at Clinton, Deansboro and Oriskany Falls.
• The MacCauley Mountain, Old Forge trails consists of seven multi-use trails for cross-country skiing, hiking, mountain biking, hiking on the downhill ski trails, a perimeter loop around the Town of Webb land and also a wildlife refuge at 300 MacCauley Road.
• The North Creek Ski Bowl Trails, located .5 miles south of the Town on Route 28, consists of six trails or loops, with three more that lead to a forest preserve, including the Schaeffer Trail up Gore Mountain (.5 to 5 miles) .
• The Adirondack Interpretive Center, SUNY ESF, in Newcomb, consists of four trail loops plus Goodnow Mountain and a connector to the Camp Santanoni Historic Area, Harris Lake and Overlook Park at 5922 Route 28N.
• The Bald Mountain Trail just north of Old Forge on Route 28 consists of a trail to the top of Bald Mountain with a Forest Ranger Tower givers the climber a great view of the Adirondack Mountains.
