50 Forward Mohawk Valley proudly announces the recognition of Ed Jackson for his extraordinary 19 years of dedicated service to the organization's Board of Directors. In deep appreciation for his visionary leadership, advocacy, and passion for community involvement, 50 Forward Mohawk Valley has established the Ed Jackson Community Champion Award.
During his nearly two decades on the Board, Ed Jackson has been a driving force behind initiatives that champion active aging, support positive community growth, and build age-friendly environments across the Mohawk Valley.
The newly established Ed Jackson Community Champion Award will annually recognize an individual who demonstrates outstanding volunteerism, exceptional community impact, and a steadfast dedication to enriching the lives of older adults.
"Ed Jackson’s leadership and selfless commitment have set the standard for what it means to be a true community champion," said Kelly Walters, Executive Director at 50 Forward Mohawk Valley. "For 19 years, Ed has worked to ensure that our older adult population has the support, resources, and community connections they deserve. Creating this award in his honor ensures that his inspiring legacy of volunteerism and leadership will continue for generations to come."
Richard Pratt, 50 Forward Board President stated, "Ed Jackson has been a board member and proud supporter of 50 Forward for many years. I cannot think of a better recognition for Ed's achievements than naming the Community Champion Award in his honor."
The inaugural recipient of the Ed Jackson Community Champion Award will be honored at 50 Forward's Annual Volunteer Recognition Event taking place in April of 2027.
