The severe risk is expected to continue spreading and developing eastward tonight. A few tornadoes, damaging winds, and severe hail are all possible. Areas eastward should keep an eye on storm development as conditions become more favorable for severe thunderstorms.

We will see who gets included in the watch here. This would likely be a Tornado Watch...so let's see! - 9:29 PM 6/17/26

Event Expanded - Flood Watch. This is an update. Flash flooding from excessive rainfall is possible in east central Indiana Wayne County and in Ohio Clark, Darke, Greene, Miami, Montgomery, Preble and Warren. The risk runs through Thursday morning. Excessive runoff may flood rivers, creeks, streams, and low-lying areas.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch has been issued for much of the area. Showers and storms will move through ahead of a cold front this afternoon. Damaging winds are the main threat.

Special Weather Statement - Champaign County - 6/12/26

At 1203 AM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Elida to near Botkins to near Bradford, moving east at 55 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Expect damage to trees and power lines. Locations impacted include... Troy, Sidney, Piqua, Bellefontaine, Wapakoneta, Tipp City, Kenton, Ada, West Milton, Fort Shawnee, Covington, Arcanum, St. Paris, Cridersville, Bradford, Anna, Jackson Center, Russells Point, De Graff, and Pleasant Hill. This includes I-75 in Ohio between mile markers 66 and 118.

The combination of temperatures in the upper 80s to around 90 and high humidity will result in the heat index reaching 95 to 100 degrees this afternoon. If planning to be outdoors for extended periods today, drink plenty of water, wear light and loose clothing, and take frequent breaks.

The combination of temperatures in the upper 80s to around 90 and high humidity will result in the heat index reaching 95 to 100 today and then again on Thursday. With these being the first hot days of the year, it may take some time to get acclimated to these conditions. So be extra cautious and take precautions to deal with the heat. If planning to be outdoors for extended periods drink plenty of water, where light and loose clothing, and take frequent breaks.
