Thunderstorms will continue moving east-northeast this morning, with additional storms likely to develop. The setup should limit hail this morning, but isolated damaging winds may occur. A watch is not expected. If you hear thunder, move indoors and stay weather aware.

Miami Valley - there is no active severe threat at this time. This is for storms mainly east of us. No concerns. - 7:53 AM 5/20/26

NEW: Here is your official “Go To Bed” line this evening! If you live north of the green 🟢 line I drew your severe threat is done for tonight. For those to the south, the threat is slowly becoming less. However, some strong storms exist near Columbus.

Special Weather Statement until 8:45 AM EDT for Logan, Union, Champaign, Clark, and Madison counties. A strong thunderstorm near Urbana moving northeast at 35 mph. Nickel-size hail possible, causing minor damage to vegetation. If outdoors, seek shelter inside a sturdy building.

A huge THANK YOU to our friends and partners at Macochee Joint Ambulance District and West Liberty Fire Department for allowing us to attend their training this evening at the always beautiful Ohio Caverns.

We are in the process of trying to develop, plan, and coordinate in various different ways to increase not only safety, but how we can better assist our partners in special circumstances involving features like these. Attending these types of events allows us to find areas of improvement, and opens discussions for future planning and needs in real time to collect valuable feedback, and data.

It is always a pleasure to work with our area agencies when we get the opportunity to!
