Our own Fire Captain, Ryan McCarty, penned this feature article in Crackyl, a respected fire service online magazine.

The article "When Assumptions Turn Dangerous" discusses the risks associated with making assumptions in critical situations, particularly in firefighting. It highlights how assumptions can lead to dangerous outcomes if not carefully evaluated.

For instance, a firefighter's reliance on assumptions during a fire can result in chaotic situations and potential harm to both the firefighter and the occupants of the building. The article emphasizes the importance of critical thinking and the need to validate assumptions to ensure safety and effectiveness in emergency responses.
