Standing up for children in the court system who have experienced abuse and neglect. Imagine being a child with parents who can’t—or won’t—take care of you.

Into your life come dozens of strangers: police, foster parents, social workers, judges, lawyers, and more. You need help, but where can you turn? Now, imagine a trained, committed, court-appointed advocate who speaks up for you, stands by your side, argues for your best interests—until the case is closed. That’s what it means to be a CASA.

Behind every CASA story is a child who simply needs someone to show up. 💙

Champaign County CASA volunteers advocate for children experiencing abuse and neglect by being a steady presence through court hearings, case changes, and uncertain moments.

Together with staff and community partners, we help make sure every child has a voice and the opportunity to thrive in a safe, permanent home.

Last month, we had the opportunity to attend a glass blowing event with the Women Business Connection and spend time connecting with incredible members of our community in such a unique and meaningful way. 💙

We loved sharing more about our mission, Pinwheel Project opportunities, Wear Blue Day, volunteer opportunities, and the many ways people can support and advocate for our CASA kids.

Community connections like these matter so much, and we are incredibly grateful for every conversation, relationship, and new supporter that helps us continue making a difference for children in foster care.

Meaningful conversations and new connections. 💙

Last month, we had the opportunity to connect with both new and familiar faces at an event with Thrivent, sharing the heart behind CASA and the impact we’re making for children in our community.

We talked about who we are, what we do, and how consistent support helps us continue showing up for our CASA kids when they need it most.

We’re also excited to share that we’re in the process of becoming a registered designatee through Thrivent, which will allow supporters to direct their giving to Champaign County CASA in a meaningful, lasting way.

It’s conversations like these that help move our mission forward. Thank you to everyone who took the time to listen, learn, and support. 💙

Still kind of surreal seeing this come to life.. 🤍

What started as an idea is now something our whole community gets to experience every day. We’re so grateful to be part of this alongside Leslie Kimble Art, Crisis Nursery , Green Street Realty, and Illinois CASA.

Right here in downtown Champaign, this mural is more than just art… it’s a reminder of what happens when people come together with purpose.

If you’re out and about, take a walk through the alley between Chester Street and Taylor Street near Hounds Court and check it out for yourself! 💙
