After four years of steep growth in local residents experiencing homelessness, Cunningham Township Supervisor’s Office Champaign-Urbana Public Health District and Friend in Me reduced unsheltered homelessness by creating a winter shelter with enough capacity. This saved lives. As a community we also saw a leveling off the overall homeless population.
