Sometimes the mission comes first. ❤️🚁

Today, AirLife 1 was scheduled to celebrate EMS Week with two local schools, but like many days in this job, plans changed quickly when we were called away for a patient flight.

While up north on that transport, we got a special surprise visit at the helipad from our medical director, Dr. Brent Olson. Even in the middle of a busy shift, it was a great reminder of the teamwork and support behind what we do every day.

We may have missed the school visits, but we were exactly where we were needed most. Thank you to our communities for always understanding when duty calls. 🚁

Happy Mother’s Day to all of the incredible moms of AirLife! ❤️🚁

Thank you for all you do both in the air and beyond. Wishing you a day filled with love, appreciation, and hopefully a little rest too! 🌸🪻🌺

One of the greatest gifts of this job has been finding friendships that extend far beyond work. Not only do we get to work alongside each other, but we are lucky enough to raise our children together too. From flights to playdates, we’re grateful for the community and family we’ve built along the way. 💕

AirLife 1 had a busy and fun EMS Day celebrating with students at DeLand School and Cerro Gordo Elementary School 🚁💙

The kids brought amazing energy, great questions, and lots of excitement as they learned more about EMS, helicopters, and the people who serve their communities every day.

A huge thank you to our incredible community partners for helping make the day such a success:🚒 DeLand Fire Protection District
🚒 Cerro Gordo Fire Department
🚑 Kirby Medical Center
🐾University of Illinois Police K-9 unit

We appreciate everyone who helped set up the LZ and create such a positive experience for the students and staff. We love opportunities like these to connect with our communities and inspire the next generation! 🚁

Farewell Robert 💙🚁

After 3 years with AirLife 1, we said goodbye to Robert. He was our “pool pilot” who quickly became so much more than that. Somewhere along the way, he stopped being the pilot who flew in from halfway across the country… and became family.

Robert has celebrated weddings, babies, birthdays, holidays, and all of life’s big moments right alongside us. He showed up for this team in ways that went far beyond the aircraft.

We are incredibly grateful for the years, memories, laughs, funny stories (the hotel hallway incident), and friendship. Wishing Robert blue skies and safe travels on his next adventure. You’ll always have a place here at AirLife 1. 🚁

Happy Nurses Week from all of us at AirLife 1! ❤️🚁

Around here, we’re more than a crew , we’re family. When we’re not flying missions, you’ll usually find us surviving on caffeine, thriving in chaos, and laughing our way through the shift together.

To our flight nurses and all the incredible nurses we work alongside every day: thank you for your dedication! We see you and appreciate you!

Here’s to the nurses who can handle critical patients, dark humor, zero sleep, and reheated coffee like pros. ☕🚁

We had the pleasure of welcoming the 4th year OB residents from Carle for a recent visit and helicopter tour! 🚁

This incredible group spent time learning more about AirLife operations and even grabbed a few photos along the way. We’re especially proud to highlight that this graduating class includes four outstanding women who are making their mark in medicine.

Thank you for spending time with our crew, we wish you all the best as you take the next step in your careers! 👩‍⚕️✨

Today we completed the last crew change with the 145 at AirLife 1. She served us well and will be missed by the crews who flew her. But we’re excited for the next chapter!

We are transitioning back to the EC130. This will bring faster response and lift times for our partners and patients. It also brings reduced maintenance needs, which means more time in service when minutes matter most.

Out with the old, in with the new! 🚁

✈️ Today is World Pilots’ Day!

A day to recognize the skill, professionalism, and dedication it takes to safely transport passengers and cargo around the world!

AirLife 1 is incredibly grateful for the pilots we get to work alongside. Your precision, calm under pressure, and commitment to excellence never go unnoticed.

Thanks for everything you do to keep us flying safely! 🚁

Another full house at AirLife 1 today! 🚁

We had the pleasure of hosting Lilly Brown as a ride-along. What a great way to wrap up a busy week of visitors! We’ve definitely kept things moving, both in the air and behind the scenes, and it’s been awesome sharing a glimpse of what we do with so many great people.

Thanks for spending the day with us, Lilly! Come back anytime.
