This February and March, PSP will be offering FREE Saturday STEM/STEAM workshops for 6th-12th grade students on the University of Illinois campus. These sessions are designed to help students explore science and technology topics beyond the classroom while building skills that support long-term academic success.
If you’re looking for an accessible, supportive way to engage your student in enrichment outside the school day, we would love for you to consider joining us!

Course Offerings
6th - 8th Grade: Animals, Ecosystems & Classification: How We Organize Life
Explore how scientists classify animals and ecosystems while learning how living organisms are connected through habitats, food webs, and biodiversity
7th - 8th Grade: Introduction to Quantum Physics
This mini-series introduces students to the basics of quantum physics through interactive lessons and simple experiments that explore particles, waves, and probability.
9th - 10th Grade: Newton’s Laws: Physics in Action
Investigate motion, force, and reactions through experiments and real-world examples that demonstrate Newton’s Laws in everyday life. Build on previous knowledge and prepare for future coursework!
9th - 12th Grade: The Science & Technology Behind Music Creation
Examine how sound works by exploring frequencies, waves, theory, acoustics, and the technology used in music recording, production, and performance.
11th - 12th Grade: Financial Literacy for Life Beyond High School
This workshop helps students develop practical financial skills, including budgeting, understanding taxes, credit card/statement literacy, and learning the basics of saving and investing.
