The group had a good morning training out on the old reservoir. Working on rescue techniques with our rescue raft on the ice. A reminder to everyone that we have cut a hole in the ice out from the boat ramp.

Thank you to Wyandot East, Mohawk, Carey, and Wharton fire departments, as well Wyandot Sheriffs deputies, EMS, and Upper Sandusky police for everyone’s assistance at our early morning apartment fire.

The Upper Sandusky Fire Fighters will be collecting food and cash donations on Saturday December 13, 2025. We will be located at A&A and Walmart from 10:00 am - 1:00 pm. Donations can also be dropped off at the station anytime the week prior to Saturday. Just pull up to the front of the station.
All donations will go to The Christian Food Center, located in Upper Sandusky.

The fire department will not be serving breakfast on Saturday as stated in the Daily Chief. Sorry for any confusion. Be sure to visit the downtown and all the cars for the car show Saturday.

A long, overdue get together for our department last night at Don Tomasso's. We honored Lynn Yeater, retired chief, with an axe commemorating his many years of service to USFD. Thank you for the great food Tom Smith and great service Phil C.!

The suits allow us to put a victim in the water as if they fell thru the ice and we were able to work with the different tools we have to rescue them. In the photos you will see where we fill a section of fire hose with air and attach hand grabs on one end. We are able to slide this out to a victim and pull them from the water onto the ice.

Shout out to the members of the USFD on a great training this morning at the reservoir. We were able to do our first ice rescue training with our Mustang Ice Rescue suits, as well as an inflatable water and ice rescue raft. The suits were purchased with funds from the county water rescue account and the raft was purchased with funds from a private donation.
