A Message from the Sheriff:

As Sheriff of Wyandot County, I would like to welcome you to the Wyandot County Sheriff's Office page. I hope you find this page useful as well as informative not only to the citizens of Wyandot County but to our visitors from outside Wyandot County. As Sheriff, I am honored to serve Wyandot County as your Chief Law Enforcement Official. I am a life-long resid

ent of Wyandot County where I grew up in the village of Kirby. I graduated from Upper Sandusky High School in 1988 and began my Law Enforcement career with the Wyandot County Sheriff's Office in 1991. Through the next 27+ years I moved up in the ranks of Sergeant then to Lieutenant. In 2018, I retired from the Wyandot County Sheriff's Office and soon thereafter I realized that I missed Law Enforcement and interacting with the citizens of Wyandot County. In September of 2020 I began my position as your Sheriff in Wyandot County. The Wyandot County Sheriff's Office currently employs 31 people who manage Administrative, Correction, Communications as well as Road Patrol duties. The Sheriff's Office is a 24/7 operating facility including Emergency E-911 dispatch and dispatch law enforcement officers as well as Fire and EMS. The Sheriff's Office is also responsible for the Wyandot County Jail, transporting prisoners, Major Crimes Unit, Court Security, investigating crimes, enforcing traffic and criminal laws, keeping the public peace, investigating traffic crashes and many other responsibilities. The Wyandot County Sheriff's Office is also responsible for Sheriff sales of properties, issuing concealed firearm carry permits, registering s*x and arson offenders and doing criminal backgrounds checks. I am very proud of the women and men that make up the Wyandot County Sheriff's Office as they do a wonderful job for the citizens of Wyandot County. SCAMS - we have been made aware that there are some scam calls going around where the caller states they are from our office. The caller states that the person hasn't responded to a subpoena and needs to meet with them or that their name is involved in some sort of legal matter. This is a reminder to NOT give out any personal or banking information to anyone over the phone. If you have any questions, feel free to call our office at 419-294-2362.

During this week of National Police Week, I would like to recognize the Women and Men of the Wyandot County Sheriff's Office for their bravery, dedication, and commitment to the citizens of Wyandot County. Every day we put the uniform on, leave our families and face the unknown to protect the community that we love. Your service does not go unnoticed. Unused or expired prescription medications are a public safety issue. Proper disposal of unneeded drugs saves lives and protects the environment and our overall community. Share this post and start preparing now for the next , April 25. Drop off boxes are located in the lobbies of the Sheriff's Office, Upper Sandusky Police Dept and the Carey Police Dept. You can also take them to Harry's Pharmacy in Carey from 10am-1pm or WalMart from 10am-2pm.
